The Glasshouses Office Space DunLaoghaire is 12 minutes to Killiney Hill

At The Glasshouses, from our office space in DunLaoghaire, we’re very proud of the delights found on our doorstep. One of the largest and most climbable of these delights is Killiney Hill.

Standing at just over 500 feet tall, Killiney Hill is a popular destination for those who love the outdoors: hikers, walkers, runners and everyone in between. The popularity of Killiney Hill comes as no surprise once you see the breath-taking views on offer. These views span from Bray Head and the Wicklow Mountains to the South Dublin to the Northwest, the Irish Sea and even the mountains of Wales on a clear day!

Members at The Glasshouses Office Space Dunlaoghaire are lucky to be able to experience Killiney Hill first-hand. Being only a 12-minute drive from The Glasshouses makes it accessible before or after work, even during your lunchbreakthe. A perfect way to clear your head and recharge your batteries, because we all need to wind down sometimes.

But it’s not just the views of surrounding areas that make this spot well worth the visit. The hill itself hosts some rather spectacular features, such as its Pyramid for example, built in 1852 by Robert Warren, the former owner of the estate.  The pyramid is referred to by locals as “The Wishing Stone”. Some people believe a wish comes true by circling all levels of the pyramid, climbing to the pinnacle and making your wish while looking towards Dalkey Island. Whether the Wishing Stone can provide you with a 3-day working week is up to your own beliefs, but one thing that is set in stone are the outstanding views of Dublin Bay from the Pyramid, which many compare to the bay of Naples, simply stunning!

Another monumental feature on the hill is the Obelisk which is very close to the obelisk, but a little hidden behind gorse hedges. Built in 1742 and 170 metres above sea level, The Obelisk is a monument built to remember those lost during the Irish Famine. If you would like to pay tribute on your travels around Killiney Hill then be sure to check out the Obelisk.
